end of jobseeker diary

On my way to handing in lovely and enigmatically designed jobseeker form i realised that today was in fact he day i had to also hand in my beloved job seeker diary. Now for some god kown reason i thought it was due in two more weeks, and lazy arse me had gotten himself behind and now i have to search for and apply for 22 new jobs by tommorrow. Ahh this will be fun. Thats just to start.

Im hopefully going to wagga tommorrow or the next with Adam Freeman who i heavent seen in a while and it be good to cathc up again on a trip back home. He lives not far from me in Leichart. Other than the trip back home my last weekends endeavours might soon be paying off. John, Pinhead, Teneille an di all headed out north sydney way so the union hotel and pissed it up with the Fleeting Crew of Digital Pictures. I did however make a contact that might be getting me work on an up and coming project called "gabrielle'. Some thing like constantine with angels and demons so might be interesting.

The sat after that i went to nimmos bday on tthe roof of his place. Met up with a few people and the whoel thing was quite university party like. Had a good time but inevitably it died down and we all went home.

Been continuing my tests and finally got maya working. I have been distracted thought because i bought a few books, One is Robin Hobb, my fave writer with yet another 1st trilogy book. Called the soldiers sons, very good so far but i dont really likethe modern entities slowly emerging from her stories. This seems more cowboy and western rather than fantasy. Personally im not a fan of technology taking over the world and destroying the magic of the world, rather that small mentions of technology appear with small trinkets and things more regarded as tricks than hard core science. Just my opinion. The other book im reading is art of war by sun tzu written 2000 years ago about war tactics. Its been givento nearly every japanese business men and the ideals teransfered to business sense rather literal battle ideals. Great little read that will make you think twice about how to approach things.

another week of this

Its been a relatively boring week for me. I have seen a few movies and since i dont have work commitments at the momen im quickly running out of cheap things to keep me interested. I should be getting back into more of my animation stuff but its been a bit of a lul this week and i really should get a job. But i have a few more ideas i need to work through and should start again on my tests.

As i just mentioned i have seen a few good movies recently an one of them was 'sin city'. This movie has got to be the best movie i have seen all year easily surpassing start wars which i thought was a 'save the series' epidemic to finally bring the end of the trilogies of trilogies, ie start wars, lotr and matrix. So out of the three trilogies this has got to be the best of the final episodes. Anyway back to 'sin city'. Its a movie version of frank millers comic books and as a rule of thumb comic book movies generally suck but this was quite good. As its simple to see why its successful in comparison to other comic movies. 1. Frank miller co directed it. 2. It remains consistent with the original layout of the comic beig black and white with elements of colour. 3. Its was made arty and although its all cast was filled with stars it seems that the emphasis was on the style of the film rather than 'lets make some cool effects with cg' and sell it to a mass audience. This film should definitely not be watched by the kind hearted. Its extremely violent but very well made.

Just though that if id mention 'sin city' then i shoul dmention some of the other great films that i have watched recently. 'Avalon' directed by the same guy as akira, i know his name but i just cant spell it sorry. 'Garden state', 'my wife is a gangster', and heaps others, damn pay tv.

oh and while im on a reviewy kinda post i should mention some cool music atm, amerie with '1 thing', love this song, 'midas touch' by 'boards of canada' but its a remix so im not sure who did the remix, the veronicas '4 ever' thats a cool song too.

cheers

since sympte

Ok so since sympte ive been staying in most of the time and working on my animation stuff. Ive been getting into photoshop and after effects and have done some cool stuff. Ive also put them online at cjb.

www.chesh.cjb.net

I havent gotten around to making a proper website yet and pretty much been preoccupied with animating. I did however go to dinner with bec and tim in newtown at newtown thai 2. And went to the movie and saw sin city which is great btw with tim tonight, being tuesday. Ive been doing more tests in photoshop using custimizable brushes and creating mad textures. I started reanimating excalibre which is a project i started in 1st year uni. Went to the home on saturday night with greg and rochelle and found it expensive and lound like the last time i went with ben three years ago. I did like it more now however probably because i can dance better and enjoy a pingers atmosphere. But other than all that and looking for work it been a pretty boring and lonely experience. Ive probably only spoken to 5 people in the last 3 weeks. Looking for work sucks, i had hoped id get ajob by now but its pretty dismal. I apply for around 5 -10 jobs a week and nothin. How lame. This is a perfect example of how fing ridiculus the situation is at the moment with graphics people in this country. Im probably going to try and get a job at wollies night fill soon its getting that bad. Theres just no work in my industry. Well not that i seem suitable for as far as they can see anyway. Maybe if i had breasts and wore a skirt.
