Enter July

My first weekend of july was pretty uneventful just having dinner with luke simon and donna.

I did however see a colombian family having dinner at the viet resturant we were eating at and i saw the youngest son smash the father over the head so hard his glasses fell forwards and smashed his wine glass into pieces. Then when we left we saw them fighting in the street the son vs the father and the other son.

Monday i recieved a late call and went out to see Jimmy and thre orange gunn playing at the hopetoun. Its always good to see the boys play a gig. and the night was very enjoyable as always.

Wednesday Greg came down and we had to catch up. So after work i headed out to the city to meet greg and pat and to have a few drinks before staying up to watch the portugal france game. I was going for portugal. Stayed in the city for a few hours and moved from one pub to the next and eventually ended up at the empire in the cross. We stayed there and watched the game down stairs. I was so tired i nearly fell asleep in the pub, but i managed and ended up seeing yet another team i followed this world cup get knocked out.

We stayed there till the end and then met dua and his mate who took us to the courthouse on tailor square because the place they wanted to go to was shut. At around 7am the pub had shut its doors not letting anyone out. A few minutes later a fight started between a few aboriginals and a small group of two or three drunken white guys. It was wet and the floor was slippery. I saw one poor guy who was a bit drunk get pushed over first and tehn smashed i the head my one aboriginal and tehn whie trying to stand up he was king hit from teh side by the otheer guys mate. All this time there were around 50 people watching them in broad daylight.

Then while he was passed out they mugged him and no one did anything. Its a shame that this sort of shit still happens in this society and that everyone is gutless to do anything.

I then went straight from the cross to work and did a full day before passing out at home later that night.

Friday i headed out in the town after doing OT at work of the new ACCENT at high speed. Pretty cool rushes. Was meant to meet dave and matt out, as well as greg, pat and phil, as well as luke and Pinns. In the end i ended up smashing it out on the dance floor of Shelbourne with Luke and pinns and was introduced to jo, a editor at POMO whos heaps mad. Kudos Jo (congrats to italy too). Luke was there picking up this filo chick from bagio. Entertainment for the family. Dispite the music being crap it was a good night.

Saturday we were awoken early to help simon move into luke house since his former house mate amanda was kicked out. ;( so the morning was spent lifting beds and fridges around what could possibly be the smaller fricken hallway known to man. I still dont know how we got that bed through. Me and luke then spent the rest of the day checking out clothes in newtown's small little sneaky shops hidden away, filled with gems at nice prices. Very cool.

Simon moving

I was meant to head out on the town with alisa but she had to cancel to spend time with family, which left e available to hit up dragon fly with luke and jazz and micky. We went to ashfield to grab my stuff to get ready and since simon didn't have a key luke lent him his. We got back and simon wasn't there. We waited for 45 mins and we needed to be at dragonfly by 10 to get in otherwise they get too picky and too full and jazz could get us in but in the end we missed out and had to wait for simon. He got back and someone had parked him in at IGA which is fair enough.

Kink crowd

We got ready and hit the cross. Found Jazz who left dragonfly with micky and hit up kink @ Art house. We got in on mickys guest list which was heaps cool sinec we didn't have to line up, but we were all dressed for dragonfly (except micky who's a kink regular) so we were overdressed but that was all good.

Jazz

I find Kink is just a little bit too overcrowded for my liking. Its packed to the brim with three stories high roof. I found the people a little rude and less friendly and tight nit than the musicaa crowds. We however got into the small VIP section of the main room where the DJ's, drug dealers and groupie chicks all hung out. It was kinda cool to smash it out in there away from the main crown and a little exclusive, but at the same time some of the chicks were a little up themselves simply because they were part of that inner loop.

We did manage to get a mad photo on in the mix of the four of us which does describe the night perfectly. It was a mad time but im not sure that going to kink againwould produce that same result. But im sure i would end up there again. Its the place to go at the moment and the people there go there in favour for that reason rather than to hear kick ass tunes and meet crazy people.

the gang

Sunday was spent recovering from the previous nights outing and half watching half sleeping through movies. I did manage to watch all of Top Gun however. Ahh the nostalgia. Was meant to catch up with alisa for coffee but that fell through too. Maybe next time...
