catch up post, post RPS week

so monday i had dinner with phil at burgerlicious in newtown. we both got nachos. now usually i avoid the full nachos hit and only have nachos and meat and sauce and avoid all the vegies, cream and guacamole. but this time i mashed it all into a big mix and hit it all up. It was great. all the flavours actually completement each other and i was really surprised. Anyone reading will probably think im a twit but it was really good. nachos good stuff.

Then we went and had gelato. god that stuff is good. im seriously becoming addicted. Then went and saw 10 canoes. Compared to hollywood films it was slow and boring. but before you think that i am baging out the film i literally am not. Yes it was slow paced and not hollywood at all but thats how i liked it. The story was funny and interesting and took time to unfold, which backs up a key moral of the story. That a good story should be told, told well and not rushed because you are impatient to see how things turn out. And it looked fantastic.

tuesday i spent another day with kamahl. hes so cool. but in the end it was work and i did my job properly wihtout any hiccups. so i am glad with that result.

I went and visited joe and watched spawn for the first time, and considering how much of a spawn fan i was i am surprised it has taken me this long to see the damn film. it was ok but all the 3d elements are jaded and look seriously bad, but htat was before all that matrix stuff came along and revamped the effects industry with crazy computers.

had banjarra or whatever its called indian from crowsnest. theh butter chicken was good, not as good as the tandoori in wagga but it was ok, however a little too expensive with one butter chicken and rice coming to 19 bucks. i didn't finish it but thats a little too dear, especiall when ive had better.

wednesday i annoyed phil again but only got opporto, wasnt that interesting a night.

thursday i spent the day with kamahl again. together we finished off the last of the compile tapes needed. had sushis. i got a sashimi variety pack which was ok but htere was little scraped oh wasabi in some so there were random hits of hotness that was a bit off putting. im tring to work my way to hot but sometimes it makes me sick.

Then after i went to becs house and met up with her then went out in glebe for dinner. Went to a little thai place on glebe point rd. I got a green thai curry, once again to work up the hotness while bec got a some vegetarian tofu dish. they were pretty good and the service was nice. Wasn't too expensive. had a good night. Then went back to becs and had good chat befor ei realised it was late and had little important things like work on the next day to worry about and that yes in fact i do actuallly need sleep sometime otherwise i could die.

fridays work was crazy because shaun was away sick and i had to man the dubsast stuff but it was good because it made me better at tapes.

After work i headed to the city to meet up with pinns. We went to a steakhouse in the city and we both got a chicken schnitzel meal with salad. personally the place looked a bit dodgy and i think we both got the schnitzel because it was the only thing that wasnt over 25 bucks and i wasn't that hungry to warrent such a wastedful amount on a steak at a place that looked dodge.

The schnitzel was well a schnitzl, its pretty hard to fuck up a schnitzel but they sure as hell didn't pu on enough gravy sauce whichis annoying. The potatoes were good but once the sauce ran out they became very dry and tasteless.

After dinner we headed to the movies along george but not before i stopped in to the gelato place across the road and got a bannana gelato. Im not sure whether it was the fact that they froze the gelato too much or that the bannana tasted more like the dry inner skin that made it bad or maybe that the one in newtown is soo good and im used to it that other gelato places seem like crap. i didn't enjoy it but the notion of covering it with chocolate like a mr whippy van does was fantastic.

we ended up seeing ooh had to think about it for a sec - pirates of the carribean 2 - dead mans chest. Personally i wasn't expecting much from the first film and loved it, now the second i was expecting the first film and was satisfied that that was what i got. didn't love it but loved bits, didn't hate it but crinjed at bits.

for instance. Loved the jack sparrow character and the effects most of the time. hated orlando bloom which is a given, and for some reason got it into my head that kiera knightly was a different chick, umm dont even ask, but i did spend most of the time questioning myself "is that really another chick, fuck they got one that looked exactly like her". I also did think that it went on for a bit too lon gand was waiting for the pace to move into a finishing move so to speak and then i realised if not remembered it was a trilogy and then a minute later it ended.

I really liked some of the scenes where they were fighting on the wheel and looked great but i thought the director had some fantasy with rolling objects and that the wheel/ball scene were exactly the same. thats just me though. the other part i hated was the beasty scene right at the end. don tread if you dont want it spoilt. but jack sparrow sitting in front of the beasty and he looks great and the beaty 3d looks great but it looks slapped down and reminiscent of sinbad the sailor and stop motion. im being hard but a little depth woullda mad a hell of a difference. thats just me being picky.

Then me and pins went to gloria jeans and i hit up a coffee. quiet weekend i though, HA!, yeah right
