canberra trip
Took friday off work and headed to canberra with luke for a weekend out on the town so to speak and to pick up my car. Caught the late bus on thursday and arrived in canb early friday morning. Got picked up by mark and went straight to mooseheads for some reason for a drink. This is at 3am in the morning.
That place is shit. It is quite possibly worst than the red lion on a bad night. The people weren't dressed up and the music was bad, and by the time we got there the place was filled with booners. So to get that little bit of frustration out i will move on with the night. (watching the continuous playing dvds on the back wall is better than socialising with those people)
Went back to joels house and woke him up, so much fun, and then watched the aust V croatia came which ended with australia drawing and makign through to the next round V Italy. Me mark and joel are pretty much yelling at the screen at the incompetance ofo the refs and bad calls. We got through anyway.
Friday, i had to sort out my car and since we were up all night we didn't start till midday. Had to get tires and a battery as well as fix the wheel pink slip and rego. Got it all done but missed out on pink slips and therefor rego by about 10 minutes. Damn so i had to get my car up syd with soome special pass that let em drive it for four hours. That was ok but i still haven't done it yet. Will do soon.
Called ormo and pretty much persuaded him to come to canberra with Zam. They finally made it to canb and instead of arriving early for drinks probably got to acadamy by 11pm. Me luke and mark were already hitting the drinks and partying on. The boys rocked up and Zam had no ID so he didn't get in. *slap* but we all partied on till the wee hours. cant remember really but it was late. Some ministry of sound guy was playing which was heaps cool, the better of the two, john someone. good shit.
Saturday
it was nguyens bday and all the asians headed to lanyon park for a surprise bbq. I got woken up early and was sick as since sleeping on what is possibly the worst air bed ever known to mankind. The sides fell away and so all my blood rushed to my head while i was sleeping and with it the copious amounts of booze still saturating it. I move to joels bed and got about an hours sleep before getting ready for the bbq.
A combination of inpongs driving and my hangover resulted in undesirable effects and projectiling once i had left the car. It was quite funny actually, there were people walking back and forth fromthe basketball to the bbq and in the middle i was spewing up the little amount of food i had consumed only minutes earlier.
After i had rested for 10 minutes i got up and started playing Bball 5on5. I started the game with a 3 pointer and through out the game scored around 5 goals. then the game got to 14 a piece, needing to win by two. (ie a three point shot) The game at this point moved into high school or prison rules with no fouls and people starting to get tired and hurt. we got the first initial point taking us to 15, and with a marvellous finish i wonthe game with a swish from the 3 point line. Final score, 17 - 14. Pretty amazing considering only minutes ago i was vomiting everywhere.
My victory in Bball was only the start of the day. I got some much needed rest before prettying myself up for the nights festivities. It was the first time i had gone back to canberra since i had left and went to phillipines which is a full year plus. So there was alot of catching up to do. When you make plans like these weekends i assumed i would have my car and i assumed i would have enough energy to make it to everything. I was wrong.
People i missed out on seeing on my trip were jess for started. Where were you? And luke which is unfortunate just running out of time and i did see you just last weekend which was cool. And little kate. Sorry, have been meaning to catch up for such a long time now. Tony the guest ahh sooo many people.
Anyway, back to sat. there were four groups of people I had to go and see and in one busy crowded sat night that was so very hard to do. I had already seen the boys at lunch but they didn’t add to the count. It was michelles Bday and they were having dinner @ asian café in the city. There I fortunately met up with may george michelle and dave burns who was also on the list for visiting. Dinner was great with a massive catch up on what weve all been doing and what nots. Met daves misses for the first time and she is very nice. Hope you go well.
The next was all my cousins and the asian boys who I had to meet up with at mesh at some point but that was later. After dinner met up with Alisa after promising to take her out in Sydney a few months back and piking it I felt obliged to show her a good time in the city. Or at least her show me a good time. ;D since its her town.
Went to knightbridge in braddon which to me seemed very along the lines of sapphire suite, but smaller. It’s a lounge bar where the elitist trust funds babies on Canberra go. I was surprised to find that alias went there but it figures. The music was actually quite nice and I wanted to stay even though I had a overwhelming feeling of displacement. But its good sometimes. In the end I convinced her to come to mesh and have a dance and a drink and meet my cousins.
We got to mesh and the line up was massive. Unbelievably she knew the manager and we got in without waiting. I love it when that happens. I hate waiting in lines for a place that’s so-so. Drunk and danced and had a great time. The boys (luke and ormo) couldn’t get in so they went out bbar and lot33.
Crashed out late after getting some martys (Canberra version of fincos but a caravan and not a servo)
